Pregnant Coco: “I actually lost 10 pounds before I started gaining baby weight”

On losing weight at the beginning of her pregnancy:

For me, I actually lost 10 pounds before I started gaining baby weight. I think a lot of it has to do with food. My cravings are fruit and Shirley Temples. I'm really not that hungry very much. I will literally get full within a couple of bites and that's it. Knock on wood because any day it could change but right now, I have a positive attitude. When I took alcohol out of the equation, I lost all of the weight. Like, every single night I have some wine. Of course I stopped drinking right when I got pregnant, but I think that has a lot to do with it.

On her current figure:

I've only gained about 5 pounds! For 18 years, I've been a model, but as soon as I got pregnant, I really couldn't care less about my body. For now I'm waiting to see how things change, how bad the stretch marks are.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini: “How often do you hear someone say, ‘give that girl a sandwich’?

On receiving a lot of body criticism for being ‘too skinny’:

I think it’s about time people just leave others alone with their unnecessary and unwanted opinions and judgments. The other side of body shaming is skinny shaming. I think this happens just as much as shaming someone for being bigger. How often do you hear someone say, ‘give that girl a sandwich’, or ‘she needs a good feed’?’ Everyone says they want the ‘perfect body’ and have so many body goals, but when a girl is just that bit too skinny, in your eyes, she gets judged.

It isn’t your fault that you think like this. The media have told us that this size is too thin and that size is too big. That one roll of back fat is disgusting and not having a thing gap (it’s okay for your thighs to touch) means you’re ugly.

There is so, so, so, so much more to life than having the ‘perfect body’. Every young person needs to understand that. Go travelling, learn about different cultures, be happy, fall in love and don’t give a f**k about what people think. If your main goal in life is to be someone’s ‘body goals’, you need to reconsider your attitude.’

… says Cheryl on Instagram.
