If Houston Rockets guard James Harden accepts the 13-year, $200 million endorsement deal by sportswear giant Adidas, he will be rolling in moolah! Recently named as Most Valuable Player by The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Harden’s earlier contract with Nike has come to an end and Adidas spared no time in giving him an offer that is hard to refuse. Reports say that Nike had made a $1 billion bid in June to retain Harden for the 2017-18 season. If Nike wants to keep Harden, they need to match the deal by the end of next week. Though the terms of the contract are under wraps, a statement from Michael Ehrlich, Adidas’ spokesman said, "We've invited James Harden to join Adidas." The offer was made yesterday but the company also confirmed that it will not renew the deal after the 2016-17 season. It seems that Harden’s beard and his “natural sense of fashion” made him an ideal candidate to extend the offer to for endorsing Adidas’ Y-3 line. Harden’s c average stands at 27.4 points, 7.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game last season; he also placed second after Stephen Curry in the MVP voting. He is currently signed with the Rockets through 2017-18 after an $80 million contract extension signed three years ago. Just ahead of the official launch, details of a brand new touchscreen-cum-keyboard Blackberry Passport called Silver Edition have been leaked online allegedly by a Swiss retailer. The earlier Blackberry Passport did not find many fans mostly because of its ultra-premium price tag, but the new silver-coloured Blackberry Passport called Silver Edition will likely come at a reasonable price of $539.99 USD to facilitate sales. The specs are mostly expected to remain the same, it is the body that is expected to change to match the new price. The high-end steel frame and sharp corners will be replaced by rounded edges and a simpler back. According to the leak, the tech specs of the new Silver Edition are: - 5 inches (1440 x 1440) display with 453 ppi
- 2 GHz Quad-core Krait 400 Qualcomm MSM8974AA Snapdragon 801 processor
- Adreno 330 GPU
- BlackBerry 10.3.2 pre-installed
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB Storage expandable via microSD up to 128GB
- 13MP primary camera with OIS and Flash and 2MP secondary/front camera
- 3450 mAh non-removable battery (up to 30 hours of battery life)
Since the 13MP camera with with f/2.0 was present in the original model, people are expecting an upgrade especially after, CEO John Chen’s tweet in June where he mentioned an upgrade for the camera. The official North America launch announcement date has not been revealed but the rumour mill suggests it might be today. So watch out for the news and in the meantime, tell us what you expect from the new Blackberry. It seems that fame and money aren't sufficient deterrents for kleptomania when it comes to Hollywood celebrities and this time it was reality TV star Kim Richards, of ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’ that fell prey to the urges. She joins a long line of celebrities arrested for shoplifting, including famous actresses Winona Ryder, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes. The incident occurred at a Target store in Van Nuys, California; Richards was caught red-handed outside the store pushing a shopping cart full of items worth $600 and above. She was immediately booked, placed under citizen’s arrest and taken to Van Nuys Police Department jail for the night; Richards was charged with misdemeanour and released the following morning on a $5,000 bail. This, however, was not her first offence. Just a few months earlier, in April, she was arrested at the Polo Lounge, Beverly Hills Hotel, and charged with public intoxication and battery against a police officer – when she was arrested, she had kicked the officer in the leg! Richards had pleaded not guilty to these charges. Sister to Real Housewives co-star Kyle Richards and aunt to Paris Hilton, Kim Richards has a proven record of alcohol abuse and an ongoing battling against addiction which is featured on the Real Housewives show. She has already been to a rehab centre twice this year. The last instalment of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC, ‘Reckoning,’ is arriving tomorrow and within it, the final chapter of the Exo Zombies called ‘Descent.’ With ‘Descent,’ the game will provide a fitting conclusion to the mission, started in ‘Carrier,’ to stop and contain the zombie outbreak. The multiplayer game takes place in an isolated ocean Atlas survival facility with new exo zombie enemies including Oz – John Malkovich's character as one of the fused exo zombies. The new DLC will finally conclude the EXO Zombies series. The fourth and final DLC for the game, ‘Reckoning’ comes after the earlier popular Havoc, Ascendance, and Supremacy and continues with characters Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, Jon Bernthal, Bruce Campbell, and John Malkovich. It will debut not only new enemies, a brand new KL-03 Trident Reflected Energy Weapon (it fires lightning bolts that bounces back from the walls) but also four new multilayer maps: - Fracture: Set in the Artic
“Discover what secrets are locked in the ice in this arctic excavation site. Take refuge behind wind turbines and heavy equipment through large combat areas cradled on the shelf of a glacier. Stay alert as the timed event cracks the ice sheet, sending one lane sinking to the depths.” - Overload: Set in downtown New Baghdad
“Enjoy the grand view of downtown New Baghdad from this exotic compound, complete with fountains, gardens and decorative plasma lamps. The map's multiple levels and long perimeter site-lines highlight medium to long-range combat and firing a shot at the lamps will send enemies flying in a burst of energy.” - Quarantine: Set on an Island
“Following a deadly viral outbreak, the island has been converted into a biological testing centre. This medium sized map's tight corners dial up the speed and open areas combine to allow for any style of gameplay. Activate the map-based score streak to unleash a devastating ship-fired missile strike.” - Swarm: Set in Seoul, South Korea
“Reconstruction is underway in Seoul, South Korea, congesting narrow corridors of this small to medium sized map with vehicles and equipment. Take position in war-scarred storefronts that provide plenty of cover over the streets or flank the enemy through close quarters interiors in the center of the map.” While PS4 and PC players will have to wait a month to get their hands on the game, Xbox 360 and Xbox One players will be able to download the DLC pack starting today for $14.99 or get it free with a Season Pass.
