Within days after Microsoft announced 7,800 job cuts in the mobile phone dept, Nokia, earlier acquired by Microsoft, has officially announced a possible return to the mobile phone market sometime late next year. The Finnish company known as pioneers in the mobile market had sold its phone business to Microsoft in 2014 after a drastic decline in sales. Now however, with Nokia's agreement with Microsoft about the use of its brand name expiring in 2016, the company is looking for new partners for a line of Nokia products to be designed and licenced under its own brand name. Here is a quick look at Nokia through the decades and Nokia Past and Present: Nokia Technologies spokesman Robert Morlino, released a statement regarding a potential return to selling mobiles, “the question comes up all the time: will Nokia return to mobile devices? The answer is: it’s complicated… The right path back to mobile phones for Nokia is through a brand-licensing model. That means identifying a partner that can be responsible for all of the manufacturing, sales, marketing and customer support for a product.” He continued, “If and when we find a world-class partner who can take on those responsibilities, we would work closely with them to guide the design and technology differentiation, as we did with the Nokia N1 Android tablet. That's the only way the bar would be met for a mobile device we'd be proud to have bear the Nokia brand, and that people will love to buy.” Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri had earlier announced the company’s intention to remain the mobile hardware market sating that they were looking for appropriate partners to re-enter the market. With this, Nokia fans and even the rest of the industry to looking forward to see if Nokia will actually be able to deliver on its words or die a natural death in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung. If the San Diego Comic-Con whetted your appetite for the new Warner Bros’ DC universe flick, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, then here’s something to make your day – the latest official photo has been released. Directed by Zak Snyder, the movie features the following superheroes: - Batman: Ben Affleck
- Superman: Henry Cavill
- Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot
- Lex Luther: Jesse Eisenberg
But this isn't your usual DC superhero comic; the movie has dark undertones with a power struggle between the caped crusader and Superman. In the movie Superman faces tough questions about his power and intentions while Batman’s alter ego, Bruce Wayne, is accused in a tragedy and channels his anger as Batman. The part of Lois Lane is played by Amy Adams. The movie shows Metropolis from Superman as an affluent city and Gotham from Batman as a downtrodden neighbouring citiy separated only by a bay. Affleck describes it thus, “The whole idea of wealth and power and how power engenders fear … made it feel real and smart to me.” Fans were offered an exclusive sneak peek at the costumes and the new railer at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 11, 2015. There was also a rumour about the appearance of Jared Leto in the movie. The first of a set of ten movies based on the DC Comics universe, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ movie is set to hit the theatres on 25 March 2016. The other upcoming movies are Suicide Squad starring the Joker (2016), Justice League part one (2017) and Justice League part two (2019). . With the 86th All-Star Game, the 2015 MLB All-Star Game as it is called looming large, the management has released the dates, location, schedule, teams and even details of weather forecast, live stream etc. The game showcases the talents of the best baseball players in the country. Here is a detailed look at the game: Just a day after Facebook’s Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos called for an immediate end to Adobe Flash, Mozilla has announced that all versions of Flash will be blocked by default on the open source Firefox browser. The announcement came via a Twitter post from Mozilla’s head of Firefox support, Mark Schmidt, in the light of the recent hacking attack on Hacking Team, a company which sells spy tools. The attack exposed the loop holes and three large security vulnerabilities in Flash. Following up in a later announcement, Schmidt said that Flash would be enabled on Firefox one the "publicly known vulnerabilities" are resolved to satisfaction. Mozilla is currently experimenting with Shumway, a HTML5 rendering tool for playing Flash files. On the other hand, users who choose to ignore the security problems can enable Flash from their settings menu. While Adobe has already acknowledged the problem and has promised a patch as early as next week, currently anyone trying to open Flash will see a message that says Flash Player plugin 18.0.0.203 (click-to-play) is “blocked for your protection,” with the added message, “When Mozilla becomes aware of add-ons, plugins, or other third-party software that seriously compromises Firefox security, stability, or performance and meets certain criteria, the software may be blocked from general use.” After the recent exposures of malware in Flash, most of the big browsers have withdrawn Flash support, choosing instead to replace it with HTML5. YouTube is one of those who chose HTML5 as its default player while Google’s Chrome pauses any Flash video trying to run on its pages. Apple is already known for its hard-line policy for not supporting Flash at all on iPads and iPhones. It was Steve Jobs back in 2010 who had posted 6 reasons against Flash in a message called “Thoughts of Flash.” But the nail in the coffin so to speak is that Adobe itself stopped any development for Flash Player for mobiles because it just doesn't match up to HTML5.
