Film-Maker Leila Djansi Says SKIN BLEACHING is ‘Nothing Bad’ + MORE Posted: 15 Jul 2015 05:48 AM PDT What is fundamentally wrong is wrong, irrespective of whoever is doing it—but in Ghana, something is only wrong when certain people do it and when others do it, it becomes right. Shockingly, film-maker-Leila Djansi who claims she is all about Africa women empowerment is supporting SKIN BLEACHING, all because it's Yvonne Nelson who is said to have bleached. Perhaps, we are lame out here—because, skin bleaching and empowering African women are strong enemies; they can't even be mentioned in the same sentence. Despite all the health risks, social risks and image issues skin bleaching brings/perpetuates, Leila Djansi seems to say; if a person bleaches, it doesn't really matter as long as the person is doing something good. This is like saying, you can be a racist and it won't matter as long as you are doing something good at your work place—or you shouldn't be discussed/blasted even if you bleach, provided you are achieving. Of course, it's even more dangerous for people achieving to be bleaching their skins, because, it sends out the notion that; there is some sort of connection between the skin colour alteration and the success. It also enables these people to gain more followers, serving as a role model to many.(...) Brandon Stark Confirms His Return For Game Of Thrones Season 6 Posted: 15 Jul 2015 05:41 AM PDT Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays the crippled Brandon Stark in HBO's hit series Game of Thrones, has confirmed that he's set to return to the show for season 6. Bran and his travelling companions were noticeably absent from Game of Thrones season 5, which recently ended in a brutal manner. In an interview with the Irish Examiner, the actor confirmed what many fans have suspected; Brandon Stark is returning for Season 6. "I can't say a lot but I am back this season, and it's going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions," Wright said. Wright didn't just miss last season, he hasn't even watched it yet. "I missed the whole of the last season because it was right in the middle of my exams, so I didn't have the time to watch it. But I'm looking forward to getting with some friends and binge- watching it all." The biggest question for Thrones fans heading into the next season is 'what is the fate of Jon Snow?' Some think he's dead, others think he will come back. Wright says he does not know… "I don't know (if he will come back). He's said he's not," he said. "I wish he would because I love Kit and because the character's so cool. Who knows? We start filming series six at the end of this month (July) so we'll see." You guys better give us some good news from the set regarding Jon Snow; otherwise we threaten to boycott the show. Yvonne Nelson Was Given GH¢5000 By NPP for the Dumsor Vigil Posted: 15 Jul 2015 05:19 AM PDT It seems the Yvonne Nelson led Dumsor vigil which became the talk of the country a few months ago was not politically independent—as it has emerged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gave the actress GH¢5000 to ‘support’ the campaign. And ironically, this claim is not coming from the headquarters of the ruling party, against which the protest can be said to have been staged. Rather, it is coming from people within the NPP. A certain Baah Acheamfour who i s a spokesperson for the ‘Save NPP Now’ pressure group and also a communication member of NPP has disclosed that his party supported the popular #DumsorMustStop campaign financially, stating that, in fact Yvonne Nelson was GH¢5000—per John Boadu, the party’s National Organiser’s budget presentation.(...) © Kwame1 for Ghanacelebrities.com, 2015. | Permalink | One comment | Add to del.icio.us ![]() Feed enhanced by Better Feed from Ozh |
