Pope Francis greeted over 70 journalists onboard the papal plane on Monday (January 12) as he travelled to Sri Lanka for his second papal visit to Asia. "Good evening. Thank you for your company on this trip, and I hope you have a good trip and a lot of work," the Pope joked as he spoke to the media at the start of the 9 hour flight. "Thank you for your company and now I will greet you personally," he said. Some 14 Filipino journalists onboard the flight were delighted by the opportunity to personally greet the pontiff. One journalist from the television network ABS/CBN gave the pope a drawing by her children who created it especially for Francis. The Pope will stay in Sri Lanka until January 15 before travelling to the Philippines. Pope Francis will arrive in Manila on January 15 and stay for four days.
