Washington, DC's Metropolitan Police Department is under scrutiny as three police officers have been arrested in the last week, two of whom for child sex crimes. On Tuesday, the body of one of those officers, 32-year-old Marc Washington, was pulled from the waters near Hains Point Park, off the Potomac River. Washington was on house arrest with a GPS tracker after being charged with child pornography last week. In an unrelated case, 47-year-old Linwood Barnhill was arrested Wednesday for his alleged link to a child prostitution ring after authorities found a missing 16-year-old girl in his apartment. The department is also dealing with a report released by Human Rights Watch earlier this week that criticizes MPD's handling of sexual assault cases. RT's Sam Sacks talks to Sara Darehshori, senior counsel for the US Program of Human Rights Watch and the author of the report against MPD, about whether the arrests of these police officers were surprising in the context of her report.
