| An already highly paid official with the Environmental Protection Agency managed to swindle the federal government out of nearly $1 million in fraudulent wages and benefits over ten years. John Beale, a senior policy adviser in the EPA's Office of Air and Radiation and leading authority on climate change, convinced his bosses that he was also a CIA operative, which allowed him to disappear for up to six months at a time, saying he was on a covert mission. In reality, he was on vacation - and charging the government for first-class accommodations. Beale retired in April when his scheme began unravelling, and will be sentenced in federal court on Wednesday for the fraud. RT's Ameera David takes a look at Beale's motivations beyond greed.
