The Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board and Metro agreed on Dec. 4 to a settlement stemming from allegations that Metro illegally re-sold graves, changed its cemetery manager without notifying the state and violated state rules when human bones were found in fill dirt at Blue Lake Regional Park.
Since 2000, the Oregon Zoo has been upgrading its spectacular holiday light display with an eye to the future – gradually switching from conventional incandescent lights to highly efficient LEDs, which use a fraction of the energy and last far longer.
