The State Of Customer (Dis) Service in GHANA | The Stores, Banks & the Telecom Companies

Yesterday, I had a problem with my personal website. I had signed up with a host company in the US and was getting charged monthly on my Visa card. My website was down so I skype-called the customer hotline number.

After a couple of minutes going through the automated voice system, I finally spoke to customer rep and told him about my problem. It took 2 minutes to fix the problem and my site was up and running. I was so stunned at how fast he fixed the problem; I actually stumbled in hanging up the call.

I have been back living in Ghana for the past 3 years and I am not used to that kind of customer service. I had totally forgotten how efficient the customer service was in developed countries.

Go ask anybody about customer service in Ghana. Go on, ask. I’ll wait…..

Great. If you managed to ask a couple of people in Ghana about the state of customer service in Ghana, you’ll probably get descriptions like this:

Bad. Awful. Slow. Rude. Terrible.

Those are just a couple of adjectives used to describe how people feel about customer service.

Seriously, the state of customer service Ghana is downright pathetic. I have walked into many stores where all the attendants do is look at you for a second and then their eyes go back to their smartphones. Some attendants actually come over and ask if they can help. But the attitude with how they ask if they can help is so off-putting, you just reply in the negative.

Sometimes, it seems that employees are annoyed when you walk into their store.(...)

Ghana’s Bollie & Reggie Zippy Now “Menn on Point” Turn UK’s X-Factor into A Sunny Day + VIDEO

Posted: 20 Sep 2015 12:14 AM PDT

Menn On Point

Menn On Point

Currently based in the United Kingdom, Ghana's hit solo artistes-Reggie Zippy of 'Adoma' fame and Bollie, 'You May Kiss the Bride' who recently made a disappointing entry into 'British Got Talent' returned with a shocking but amazing performance on UK' 2015 X-Factor—with all the judges calling them the best of the day.

Wearing red denim, the two Ghanaians who for sometime have been living in the United Kingdom in search for education, greener pastures and a musical breakthrough were dedicated enough not have made their failed 'British Got Talent' dream kill their aspiration—and their return on the packed X-Factor's Week 4 audition was MEGA.

It was not only a musical extravaganza for the judges and the crowd, they indeed brought that Xtra Factor; their dance moves and pre-recorded footage were as funny as hell.

Having performed on some of the biggest stages in Ghana was definitely a bonus for their stage craft—they had no worries and knew exactly how to get the attention of the judges which worked perfectly.

Even if the judges did not like the style which was not the case, they couldn't have frankly ignored the over 4000 people who jumped and shouted in excited; "Menn on Point" were really on point and they kept Ghana on their lips, making us all proud.

When they walked up the stage, they mentioned "world domination" as their aim—and from what we saw, they can surely dominate with this sort of Pharrell Williams' "Happy" hit style of music. People want to be excited musically because the world has enough misery and "Menn on Point" brought that to the X-Factor stage.

After the panel of expert judges and audience were left fearing the worst, "Menn on Point" came to savage the situation with their own original song-Turn It Up—which intend turned the whole place up.

Rita Ora took centre stage from where she was seated and danced as much as she could—with Nick Grimshaw pushing himself up with excitement. After their incredible performance, Rita declared; 'They're actually so musically relevant right now."(...)

Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga has defeated the bank-ruler of Black Avenue Music, D Black in a FIFA soccer game challenge.

D Black is known to be a very good FIFA player beating the likes of Joey B, DJ Breezy and other celebrities in the game.

D Black happens to be in Nigeria and decided to throw the challenge to M.I to play the game with him.

However, D black could not stand the skill of Mr. Incredible when they played the game earlier today.

The challenge ended 2 game victories to 1 in favour of the Nigerian rapper.

M.I took to his instagram page to tease D black. He extended the game challenge to Paedae of R2Bees fame.

M.I also emphatically wrote that Nigerians are better at cooking jollof and playing Fifa games than Ghanaians.
