| | Former Texas governor Rick Perry will suspend his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination, according to prepared remarks for a Friday speech distributed by his campaign. His campaign recently shuttered its South Carolina campaign office, lost its staff in New Hampshire and had scaled back its Iowa team to just one paid staffer. Perry also unsuccessfully sought the 2012 GOP nomination.
