| Amazon.com has won over U.S. regulators' approval to test-fly drones that deliver packages autonomously, the FAA says.
Full Story:
It seems as though the dream of having Amazon packages delivered to you by drone may one day become reality.
U.S. federal regulators have approved the test flight of a delivery drone, as the e-commerce giant pursues its vision of speedy package delivery through the air.
The FAA says it has issued Amazon an 'airworthiness certificate' to a prototype unit and drone.
It will allow test flights on private, rural land in Washington state.
The drones being developed can fly at speeds of 50 miles per hour and operate by themselves and sense and avoid objects.
Though public concern remains over safety and privacy implications in drone delivery.
