Women hoping for a pill helping them with sexual dysfunction will have to wait. The Food and Drug Administration turned down Sprout Pharmaceuticals' application for their sexual-desire drug, saying it only has a mild effect on women, outweighed by the risks of side effects. The drug, flibanserin, acts similarly to an antidepressant by lowering serotonin levels, while boosting dopamine levels.
