Rafael Nadal beats Borna Coric in First Round of US Open 2015 despite Bad Health

A bad stomach and dehydration couldn't stop No. 8 seed Rafael Nadal from winning the first round of the US Open against 2015 at Arthur Ashe Stadium against 33rd ranked 18 year old Borna Coric, the youngest member of ATP’s top 50.

Down on his luck for the past few months and out of the top 3 seeds for the first time since 2004, Nadal has a record of 21 victories from 22 matches at the US Open and also holds 14 majors titles. This match too seemed to go awry in the third set and towards the beginning of the fourth, the score looked bleak, but with a show of power, Nadal swung into action and sailed into a 6-3, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory, his first U.S. Open win since 2013 (he was out of last year’s tournament due to a right wrist injury).

Talking about his failing health during the match and the subsequent recovery in the fourth set, Nadal said, “I had some problems. I was sweating a lot. I recovered (a) little bit. I played, again, more aggressive.

Coric who had won his previous match with Nadal last year, shook hands with this year’s winner, Nadal, who will play in the second round against Diego Schwartzman, and said, “It was the first time in my life on such a big court. I played a solid match, so very good.”

Pricier Apple TV Might Get Motion Controls in a New Remote

Folks at Apple’s WWDC 2015 earlier this year were really disappointed when Tim Cooks said not a word on an upgraded Apple TV, which, as most folks know, is in the works. Now however, new reports have emerged that lead us to believe we might be seeing this highly-anticipated device sooner than expected, maybe in September?

The new Apple TV box is said to be almost ready for a September launch but the details of it are still under wraps. What has trickled down is a rumour about a pricier Apple TV. While the first generation was priced over $100 and the current one at $79, the new one is expected to carry a heftier tag between $149 to $199 when it ships sometime in October (hopefully!).

So is the new, considerably raised price justified? Well, we won't know for sure until the full specs of the device are out, but there is talk of a brand new remote with motion control sensors (something like Nintendo’s Wii controller) for the upgraded Apple TV. On the physical aspect, the new device is supposed to be bigger, thicker and with physical buttons, a touchpad at the top and even a microphone for voice access to Siri. The hardware specs are supposed to take a leap allowing it to handle games, access Siri as well as the full App Store right from your TV screen in addition to the existing TV shows, movies and podcasts. Maybe we will also see a faster processor and the new iOS9 and can we hope for Apple’s long-overdue, still-in-the-air streaming TV service? For now however, the new Apple TV will probably require the user to sign-in with their cable networks for content.

However, even with a higher price, there are enough Apple fans both old and new who won't think too much about the price compared to the joy of owning a brand new, refreshed Apple TV. And then Apple has a history of reducing the price of its products as soon as a new model is announced.

Barack Obama to appear with Bear Grylls special in Alaskan Wilderness Environment Special

If you thought celebrities like Channing Tatum, Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, Ben Stiller, Michelle Rodriguez were special visitors to Bear Grylls’ show, then this visitor will knock your socks off!

The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama is all set to join British adventurer Bear Grylls on an Alaskan Wilderness episode of his long running survivalist show on Discovery Channel, ‘Running Wild with Bear Grylls.’ This special episode is an effort on the part of the US president to highlight environmental challenges and the impact of climate change on the environment in Alaska.

Venturing into the Alaskan wilderness is no joke and that is why Obama will join the hardy adventurer and television presenter to receive a three-day crash course in survival techniques. The setting will be as harsh as it gets and the journey will be an adventure like no other as both Grylls and Obama trek through wild Alaska.

According to a statement from NBC, “President Obama will meet with Bear Grylls while visiting Alaska to observe the effects of climate change on the area. The two will then come together in the Alaskan wilderness. President Obama will become the first US president to receive a crash course in survival techniques from Bear Grylls. The visit will be taped and aired on NBC later this year.”

The episode is set to coincide with Obama’s visit to the Arctic Circle, the first President in office to do so. During his visit, he will rename North America’s highest peak from Mount McKinley (named after President William McKinley in 1917) to its native name ‘Denali’ (it means “great one” in Koyukon).

Earlier, in a weekly address to the citizens, Obama had said, “Think about that. If another country threatened to wipe out an American town we would do everything in our power to protect ourselves. Climate change poses the same threat right now.” This US President special edition of the show will be broadcast sometime later this year. Don't miss this one and only chance to see Obama roughing it in the wild with Grylls!
