BREAKING: St. Louis County issues state of emergency following Ferguson unrest

  St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger issued a statement on Monday declaring a state of emergency in Ferguson, Mo., following a shooting involving police Sunday night. "The recent acts of violence will not be tolerated in a community that has worked so tirelessly over the last year to rebuild and become stronger," the statement said. The order stated that St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar will take over the operation of police emergency management in the City of Ferguson and surrounding areas.
