| A zoo in southern Brazil is home to a rare white lion cub, the first for the Latin American nation.
Full Story:
A zoo in southern Brazil has welcomed a rare treasure...a white lion cub.
The two-month-old female, Clara, was rejected by her mother at birth.
But zookeepers at Beto Carrero World in Santa Catarina adopted her right away.
Every few hours she empties a bottle with a mix of goat's milk and vitamins and cozies up in a private pen.
White lions are not albinos, as many believe.
Their ivory coat is due to color mutations in a certain subspecies.
Clara is the first white lion born in captivity for the country.
At six months the zoo plans to move her from her private quarters and re-introduce her to her pack.
