Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko attended a memorial ceremony to protesters who died during the Maidan demonstrations on Kiev's Institutskaya Street during events held to mark 12 months since the start of the Maidan movement. Dozens of protesters attended the commemoration, with parents of several of the deceased shouting "shame!" as Poroshenko walked past. The president placed a candle at the foot of a memorial built at the spot where a number of the protesters were killed.
